Kyu Kim
Kyu comes to us from South Korea via Singapore and the United States. This year he is in Year 13 and is International Prefect.
Yoshi Nishimura
Yoshi comes from Japan. After a short stint in the North Island, Yoshi began at McGlashan at the start of 2012 to undertake the IB Diploma.
Jonas Maierl
Jonas comes to McGlashan from Germany and is a currently a Year 12 student, undertaking the IB Diploma.
Koon Chakhatrakan
Koon is our resident journalist. He is an editor for the McGlashan Messenger, our school newspaper, and is also a student librarian. He is from Thailand and has been at the college since 2012.
Kan Kim
Stijn de Ridder
Stijin is from Zelzate (a city of 12,000) in Belgium. He lives in Dunedin with his family, as his father works at the Dunedin Public Hospital. His father came to Dunedin as a neurosurgeon as a result of the successful 'Keep Neurosurgery in the South' campaign. His brother, Maarten is 12, and attends another school within Dunedin.
Stijin likes McGlashan, though wearing a uniform took a little getting used to, as in Belgium they do not wear uniform. In his free time he enjoys playing with friends and snowboarding. He looks forward to snowboarding here in the South Island, after gaining much experience in the French Alps.

Taro Chen
Taro comes from the city of Kaosiung in Taiwan. Kaosiung is known world-wide for their hosting of the 2009 World Games. Taro is in Year 10. This is his first at the College. He lives in the International House of our modern boarding facilities. He has been quick to make new friends, both international and domestic and from across year levels.
Our new sports centre and library building are real highlights for him. He enjoys badminton, basketball and computer games in his spare time. He has ambitions to attend the University of Otago, following his studies at McGlashan, with the intention of studying dentistry

Jiro Chen
Jiro is in Year 9, he arrived in New Zealand at the start of this year. Jiro hails from Taiwan. His parents work in the education sector in Taiwan. He lives on campus, in our boarding facilities. Jiro loves playing badminton.
When Jiro leaves McGlashan, he wants to study medicine, at the local University of Otago, in order to become a doctor.

Daniel Kim (Kim Young Hyun)
Daniel is from Goyang in South Korea. He is in Year 9, and enjoys spending time with his friends, reading and playing badminton. Daniel enjoys the facilities at McGlashan and New Zealand, and in particular he has undertaken a bungee jump in Queenstown.
Next year, Daniel's brother (Kim Young Jun) will join the McGlashan family. In the future, Daniel wants to become a vet.

Aubrey Kan
Aubrey comes to us from Hong Kong, a city of roughly sixty times the population of Dunedin. Aubrey came to New Zealand in January 2012 and quickly set about making new friends. Although he enjoys reading and playing computer games in New Zealand, he misses traditional Hong Kong food.
