On Monday 15th April 2013, McGlashan held its annual ANZAC Service, to honour all those who have served, especially, the former McGlashan who did not return home from the Second World War.
The School Chaplain, the Rev. R Scott took the service and senior boys read from the Bible, some poetry from Wilfred Owen, and biographies of two of the fallen.
The service began with the whole school, enthusiastically, singing the National Anthem of New Zealand. During the service, Ed Davies (Head Boy) and John Anderson (old boy) read the name of McGlashan's fallen in the Second World War and Korean War, and laid the wreath.
All the boys, including me, enjoyed this greatly and some of us look forward to attending the Dunedin Civil Service on ANZAC Day itself.
